Bedford Junior Blues has been providing rugby for children in reception to year 13 for over 50 years. In 2012 we provided a player pathway with the introduction of a Colts Section and in 2020, for the first time in our history, we launched a Senior Women’s Team. During the 2023/2024 season the club celebrated it’s 50th birthday with a range of events for both players and parents alike to showcase our club and its members.

Being a member of the ‘Junior Blues’ builds lifelong friendships. The coaches and committee members are all volunteers who have a keen interest in rugby, and in many cases, whose children have become rugby players.

Message from our Chairman

With the new season now just weeks away, activity is ramping up across the club to ensure that we build on the success of our 50th Anniversary season last year. Finishing the season with over 600 young people registered across all age groups, Bedford Junior Blues is recognised as one of the best community youth rugby clubs in the UK. The committee is hard at work evaluating feedback from last season and implementing a range of actions to further improve our ability to deliver experiences to young people on and off the field.

At every level Bedford Junior Blues is entirely coordinated by volunteers, all of whom deserve recognition and gratitude for their sacrifices, many missing time with their own families to support the club. The development of players, coaches, volunteers and relationships across the community remains at the heart of what Bedford Junior Blues aims to achieve and the committee will continue to take opportunities that strengthen us as a club.

A collective effort, clear communication of club intent and strategy will be key to the ongoing success of the club. Every player, parent and volunteer has a voice and I will encourage all involved with the club to continue to feedback to the committee via surveys, coaching teams and parent representatives.

The committee, coaches and broader Bedford Junior Blues community thanks you for your support and look forward to the collective achievements of the season ahead.
