Due to the current crisis it is with regret that we cannot accept new players under the GIVE RUGBY A TRY scheme. New players are welcome subject to age group quotas in line with Covid Risk Assessment.
All new players will need to allow approx. 1 week for the registration process to be completed. If you require more information please contact the Team Manager of the age group you will be joining.
Bedford Junior Blues U10s: (Year 5 from 1st Sep)
We aim to provide quality rugby in a fun and structured environment supported by a team of RFU qualified volunteers. New players are always warmly welcome to come and join us.
We are based at the Bedford Athletic RFC's ground at Wentworth Drive on a Sunday morning and train on the Mowsbury Park area next to the rugby club. You should arrive at 9:45am ready to begin training at 10:00am. Training finishes at 11:15am. Please arrive for training ready to participate in your rugby kit and rugby boots. You must bring your own water bottle that is clearly identifiable as your own so there is no confusion over who's bottle is who's.
The U10's provide quality rugby in an enjoyable and structured environment supported by a team of RFU qualified volunteers. In keeping with all Bedfordshire rugby clubs, we play under the RFU's 'Age Grade Rugby' - a deliberately child-centric approach to the game. Through this we introduce children to rugby though a phased approach to learning the skills they will then use for the rest of their playing days (and the social skills and friendships that will help them throughout life).
We are passionate about what we do, but what we are not about is winning matches at all costs. The core values of rugby – Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Sportsmanship – are at the heart of what we do and our goal is to allow all our players to experience the fellowship, fun and excitement that rugby offers.
