Hope you are all keeping safe in these challenging times and trying to keep rugby fit whilst in lockdown. The picture appears to be improving of late and hopefully we are moving towards some normality returning, although it has been a devastating time for many.
As a club we at Bedford Junior Blues are working towards rugby returning for all by September but obviously this depends upon Government restrictions and guidance from RFU. We are monitoring all closely and will advise all as and when our strategy is clear. Of course, some age groups will be wanting to provide some preseason training over the summer and again we will provide guidance on this when we can. We are also hoping to have a club social BBQ in the coming months so we can mix again with our rugby family. Please watch this space for an update.
We plan to hold our annual AGM soon, but this will need to be virtual so again we will advise all shortly with log on details etc.
I am delighted to say that the response to our ‘ Keeping Rugby fit in Lockdown’ video competition has been great with a fab number of entries from every age group. These have been forwarded to Mike Rayer to judge and I will announce the winner shortly. Thank you and well done to all that took part, some real interesting and imaginative videos received.
We have not been idle during this lockdown period with some behind the scenes work going on, namely our update efforts in getting our players registered on the new RFU registration system GMS. This has been a real challenging process and sincere thanks must go to Chris Shacklady, Chris Wright and Shaun Barnes for all their efforts in getting us ready for the new season. This will involve a new way of registration for all at the start of the season and full instructions will be provided soon.
Work has also been taking place on our new website. This is nearing completion and you will all be able to view such shortly. Well done Chris Wright for a fantastic job.
Enjoy your summer all and hopefully soon rugby will be back with not too many changes.
Keep safe and see you all soon
