Return To Rugby & AGM

Dear Players/Parents

I trust all are keeping well and looking forward to life returning to some normality gradually. ( Whatever that may be )

I just wanted to drop you a note to update you all with regards the return to rugby at Bedford Junior Blues.

Circumstances as you can imagine may change but at present the club is planning for a normal start to our rugby season in September. Some age groups have applied to commence a certain amount of pre season training. Each age group has been asked to submit a full risk assessment and return plan to the Management Committee prior to commencing such and upon agreement to following all Government and RFU guidelines have been permitted to do so. This process is under constant review as to what is allowed etc and as a club we will ensure all the agreed protocols are adhered to so as to ensure the safety of our players , coaches and parents. You may ask your relevant Head Coach to view these Risk Assessments and return plans if you so wish.

As part of these plans we are asking every age group to provide hand sanitising and equipment sanitising pitch side for all players. One of our parents, who is a representative of a company that supplies products for this purpose, has generously offered to donate supplies of these products to every age group free of charge. We are extremely grateful for this gesture and thank him sincerely.

He has kindly donated sufficient supplies of hand sanitiser and equipment sanitiser to cover every age group up until Xmas. Your Head Coaches have all the relevant data sheets but essentially it is MediSeptic; 2 hours long-term protection 99% natural ingredients, Skin friendly and alcohol free. Non-toxic, no surfactants and aldehydes Bacoban: long-lasting slow release disinfectant Uniquely delivers a SI02 coating that remains active for up to 10 days against bacteria and viruses including Coronaviruses.

On a separate note , we at the club recognise that a vast amount of rugby was missed last season owing to the lockdown and as such have decided to reflect this loss in the membership charges we will apply this coming season. Player membership this coming season will be just £75 and sibling £45. This is a reduction of 25% on last season. The registration process will be different this year owing to RFU changes and we will update all in due course. Should circumstances again change this coming season we will again review such accordingly. We are keen to retain all our players for this coming season and do not want money to be a barrier to any, so will be supporting our welfare provision to any who may require such in these challenging times.

We are also planning to hold our annual AGM  on Sunday 2nd Aug at 11.00am. This will be a Zoom meeting and invites will be sent to all in due course. Should you have any questions you wish to raise at this meeting plse send them across to me to add to the agenda. Please follow link to details of the Proposed Committee Structure for the forthcoming season. This is of course subject to vote and again should you wish to propose any alternatives plse submit such in advance.

Thank you all for your kind support of all during these times and I hope we can get back to rugby as planned in September, albeit with some changes !!
